Christianna Ferguson

Christianna takes the most simple of materials, wool, soap and water and transforms them into bold, unique and often complex textiles. Through the physical act of making felt her curiousity is continually sparked to explore the medium in new ways. Her work ranges from wearable pieces and costume to fine art, wall hangings and sculptural pieces.
Often her work incorporates silk and three dimensional elements to enhance her individual surface designs. Teaching and creating communtiy through the arts are also a meaningful part of her full-time studio practice in the village of Lakefield Ontario.
Christianna has developed her technical skills through taking classes with internationally recognized felt makers Andrea Grahm, Fiona Duthie, Dagmar Binder and Catherine O’Leary.
Christianna’s work was featured in ‘The Uppercase Compendium of Craft’ 2015 and in ‘Worldwide Colours of Felt’ TextileLink, 2016.
